We are pleased to announce that a new funding agreement has been reached with Chrysler, Ford and GM that will allow the CAW/MAC Labour Studies Certificate to continue offering courses to CAW members. The program will be administered directly by the CAW and sign-up for courses will happen through local union representatives or directly with the Certificate Office at McMaster. Details of the changes will be provided in courses this fall. The partnership between the CAW and McMaster University has allowed us to offer courses designed specifically for you, with your interests in mind. We look forward to continuing this innovative program and developing new courses in the near future. Its continued success will depend critically on your participation this term and in the near future. We are all looking forward to getting back to work and welcoming new and former students into the classroom. Courses have been scheduled for all locations. We have also arranged an exciting new video course that will explore the labour movement and the political situation in Iran.
“I’m pleased that we’ve got the program back on track. It was too important to let fail. Our partnership with the School of Labour Studies at McMaster University has produced one of the most innovative labour education programs around. I’m glad our members at Ford, Chrysler and General Motors will continue to have the opportunity for the personal development and the social engagement that characterizes CAW/MAC courses.”
Ken Lewenza, CAW National President
